Highlands 101 2016
THE HIGHLANDS 101: 11 - 13 NOVEMBER 2016
A world-class motor racing event at one of New Zealand's world-class motor racing facilities as the fantastic Highlands 101 returns for its fourth year in November 2016!
Many thousands of spectators enjoyed the new format Highlands 101 endurance race when we ran it for the first time in 2013. With its modern take on the famous Le Mans running start and compulsory pit stops for the driver pairings, the Highlands 101 race sees up to 42 race cars vie for the chequered flag at the end of 101 laps, or three-and-a-bit intense and gruelling hours on the 4.1km Highlands circuit.
The event also features the Australian GT Championship finale with up to 30 GT cars and their drivers making the trans-Tasman journey to finish their 2016 season at Highlands' spectacular Central Otago location. For motorsport fans, the line-up of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Aston Martins, McLarens, Porsches, Ginettas and Ascaris is hard to beat!
In true Highlands' style, the weekend will feature a wonderful array of top class entertainment on and off the track, including a great range of fun kids’ activities on the top terrace, and as usual an amazing selection of food and refreshment vendors in key spectator areas.
A very special feature of the Highlands facility is the free buses operating around the full circuit, allowing families to experience our Jurassic Park-style adventure playground. What secret treasures and scary dinosaurs can you find in the Highlands Forest? It’s easy to get there – simply catch the Highlands bus which runs every 15 minutes right round the circuit providing access to all spectator areas and the adventure play area.
