A day to remember with Cure Kids
A huge thank you to all the members and staff who helped out with the Cure Kids Ticket to Hope experience recently. We were privileged to host 12 Cure Kids ambassadors, their family and friends, and of course the Cure Kids team for what was a very special day.
Highlands chief operating officer Josie Spillane worked for Cure Kids before she became one of the first employees at Highlands while Tony and Christina Quinn have been long time supporters of the children’s charity.
“It was a wonderful way to engage our members and connect them to the charity and provide an amazing experience for the kids,” says Josie Spillane. “I’d like to say a special thank you to Sophie Newbold who was my assistant for the day. She’s been a Cure Kids ambassador since 2004 when I first started working for them. She’s 21-years-old now but she still loves to be involved and help out in any way she can.”
Members helped out by giving the kids hot laps in their cars around the track. Highlands also organised a Heliview Flights helicopter ride, a safari experience and go-karting as a way of giving something back to the children who are the face of Cure Kids.
“All of the kids live with life-threatening illnesses and it was fantastic to help them forget about their troubles for a day,” says Spillane.
