What's new at Highlands
You may have noticed some construction work going on over the last few months at Highlands. We’re pleased to announce that our newly renovated Highlands Café is now open.
Our Head Chef at the Highlands Cafe is Amy Harrison who previously worked at The Nose Restaurant. Other friendly faces from The Nose include Greg and Kumi. We’ll be serving top notch, fresh, local fare and the Cafe is fully licensed so you can enjoy a vino or a coffee while taking in the spectacular views from our new alfresco dining area and viewing deck.
The new deck offers fantastic indoor outdoor flow and there’s no place else in the world that can offer such sweeping views of a world class racetrack with its own lake and the backdrop of the Central Otago high country.
For locals that have visited Highlands, in the past, we are delighted to advise that Highlands Café has a brand new entrance. You can access the Highlands Café, without purchasing a Museum entry ticket, from taking the path adjacent to the Main Building to the right of the main building.
The new Aroma Room Experience has also been a big hit with visitors to the Museum and offers something unique that appeals to people who may or may not be that interested in the cars we have on display! Entry to the Aroma Room is included in your Museum Experience ticket and people can come and match the different scents to the different wine varieties from the Central Otago region.
