At the start of 2020 Highlands unveiled their latest attraction a stunning, Virtual Reality experience celebrating the Young Guns of New Zealand motorsport.
The Virtual Reality room is included as part of the entry to Highlands Museum and visitors will get the opportunity to experience what it feels like to sit in the passenger seat on a virtual lap around Highlands with Greg Murphy, ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett and Hayden Paddon. The Virtual Reality hot laps experience is the first of its kind in New Zealand and the video and virtual reality content will be updated regularly.
The new attraction also features a Wall of Fame and video interviews with the current generation of Kiwi motorsport legends including Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen and a few of the older generation including Jim Richards and Tony Quinn.
“Jim and I might skew the average age slightly but it’s always important to have a couple of old guns to keep the young fellas in check!” says Quinn.
The video interviews offer a unique insight into the personalities of some of the stars of the sport and what drives them.
